Candle Care Instructions
BURNING INSTRUCTIONS
Your candle will already come with the wick pre-trimmed to ¼". When lighting for the first time, it is extremely important to allow the candle to burn until the melted wax reaches the edge of the container. This should take approximately 4 hours in our 15 oz candle. In some cases, the wax will not burn to the edges until the second burn, this is completely normal. During the second burn of your candle, it is ideal to also allow a 4 hour burn to prevent tunneling on the side of the jar. Candles that have tunneling have severely reduced burn time. The burn time will also be significantly reduced if you burn your candles for longer periods of time (over 4 hour periods).
Please do not burn your candle for longer than 4 hours at a time. This is not only recommended to lengthen the burn time of your candle, but this is also optimal to ensure your safety and prevent fire hazards. Please do not touch the candle vessels while your candle is burning, the glass will be very hot. As always, burn your candle on a flat, flame retardant surface and never leave it unattended. If your wick starts floating and becomes unstuck from the bottom of the jar, please stop burning it immediately. The jar can shatter if this occurs for too long. This typically would occurs at the very end of the candle's burn. Please, always read the Candle Warning label located on the bottom of the candle.
To ensure an optimal burn, please be sure to trim the wick to ¼" (5mm) before each use and remove any charred wood from previous use. No special tools are needed to do this. You may easily trim the burnt tip of the wick by holding your vessel upside down, over a trash bin, and pinching it off with your fingers. Please be sure to remove all wood particles that have fallen into the wax, if any. If your flame gets larger than 3”, please extinguish the candle and allow it to cool. Once your candle cools, you can trim your wick to approximately ¼” and remove the wick trimmings before relighting your candle.
Wood wicks naturally produce debris, or tannins, which can cause discoloration of the wax. This is completely normal and will not affect the burn.
Discard your candle once ½ inch of wax is remaining in the jar.
WOODEN WICK CANDLE CARE
Trim the wick to 1/4" (5mm) before each use and remove any charred wood from previous use.
Light the corner of the wood wick and let the flame carry across the width of the wick.
Let the wax melt to the edges each burn to prevent tunnelling & do not burn for over 4 hours at a time.
Do not leave your candle unattended. Extinguish your candle before leaving the room.
Keep your candle out of reach of children and pets at all times to prevent accidents & burns.
Extinguish your wood wick candle with a candle snuffer or lid. If flame is higher than 3 inches, extinguish & allow to cool. Trim before relighting
