Welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions page for Mind Your Beeswax! We know that shopping online can sometimes raise questions, so we've compiled a list of the most common queries we receive from our valued customers.

CANDLE CARE

How do you take care of beeswax & wood wick candles?

Each candle includes care and lighting instructions on the bottom label. You will also receive a Candle Care card with every order. Please be sure to read this card carefully before lighting to ensure your safety as well as prolonging the life of the candle. We encourage care and attention to the following guidelines:

  • First Burn: When you first light your candle, allow the wax to melt all the way to the outer edges of the container. Approximately a 4 hour burn. Allowing a full melt pool guarantees an even burn (no tunneling) and maximum scent throw. This step is crucial to ensure a proper burn throughout the life of the candle.

  • Maximum Session Burn Times: Never burn a candle for longer than 4 hours at a time. If a candle is burnt for excessive periods without being allowed to re-solidify, the excessive heat will cause the essential oil to burn out faster than it should and could pose a potential fire hazard.

  • Candle Storage: To ensure your candles are kept in optimum condition, keep them out of direct sunlight and store them in a cool, dark place.

  • Wick: We use natural crackling wood wicks to enhance the aesthetic pleasure of burning candles. To provide the cleanest burn possible, trim your wood wick to ¼ inch with a wick trimmer before lighting. Please note, wood wicks naturally produce debris, or tannins, which can cause discoloration of the wax. This is completely normal and will not affect the burn.
    Half Inch Rule: Discontinue use of a candle when there is ½ inch of wax left at the bottom of the jar. This will prevent possible heat damage to the counter/surface, or the container itself.

  • Safety: Do not leave candles unattended, and please make sure to place candles away from children and pets. Always place candles on a heat-resistant base, and set on a leveled and stable surface.

How should I store my candles?

When not in use, candles should be stored in a cool, dry place, free from dust and protected from direct sunlight. We recommend you avoid placing your candles next to windows or in direct sunlight as it may cause discoloration of the wax.

Can your vessels be recycled?

Yes! They can be repurposed in tons of different ways. Use your imagination to determine how you can recycle your vessels!

How long do the candles last?

Candle care is very important to ensure you get the maximum out of your candle. The large 15oz/425g candle should have up to 60 hours burn time. You must ensure you trim the wick to about ¼ inch after each burn and before you light for the first time. First burn should be no longer than 4 hours and thereafter 3-4 hours maximum, or until at least a full melt pool has formed on each burn.

When can I expect to receive my order?

We will do everything we can to deliver your order as quickly as possible.

Most orders ship within 2 business days, but we ask you please allow us up to 3 - 5 business days to ship your order.

Standard delivery is free for orders $200 and over.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards including Visa, Mastercard and Paypal.

How can I track my order once it has been shipped?

Your tracking link will be sent to you via email once your order has shipped. Please allow 24 hours for the carrier to update tracking information.

What is your return/exchange policy?

Due to the nature of our products, all sales are final. However, if you have a defective product or any issues, please contact us within 24 hours of receiving your order. If in the event you are unhappy with your candle, we can offer an exchange of the same size and price within 7 days of purchase. The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs on all exchanges.​​ Please note, for sanitary reasons, all lip balms and body butters cannot be returned or exchanged under any circumstances.

All exchange requests must be submitted within 24 hours of delivery and must be returned within 7 days of receipt. Before returning your product, please email us at MindYourBeeswax.SD@gmail.com for a return approval and we will provide you with an Online Returns Form which must be included in your return parcel. All returns must be in new condition, unused, and in the original packaging.

We highly recommend that you insure the parcel for the value of the goods and retain your Proof of Postage Receipt.

Once your return has been received at our warehouse we will inspect the returned item(s) and providing the order has been sent back as per the Returns/Exchange Policy, we will process your request within 10 days of receiving the goods and will send you an email notification to confirm this. We will email you a new tracking number for your replacement item, if applicable.

Do you offer international shipping?

Unfortunately, we currently only offer Domestic Shipping within the United States. We hope to be able to offer international shipping in the near future!
